Thread: Data Shortcut Project Referencing Wrong Project Filies

I am working for a large town development that was primarily set increase using dating shortcuts. I have a drawing for fields, hall, novel ground, site grade additionally sewer & water. Entire of the drawings are connected with date crosscut for alignments, profiles & surfaces. One project became broken upward up phases and as phase 1 was among construction we began designing phase 2. To separate the phase I copied and drawings into a new project folder on our network and remapped the evidence shortcuts and renamed a few of this drafts. All seemed to be working well until current when I noticed that depending on which project I had opened latest it would using which project as the reference. Things to Note:
This project is multi period old and phases what begun in Civic 3d 2013.
We newly upgrated to Civil 3d 2015 when we now believe this was happening previous to the updating.
When we set up our data shortcuts we have been hiring a new working select for each project furthermore novel shortcut folder by the folder.
None of the interface or alignments were renamed int phase 2.
If I open a blank how and browse to the correct data shortcut working folder then open the project everything works fine.
When I did the save as I did this through the Data Beeline Editor, and all of an remapping of projects was done throughout there as well.

Has anyone see anything favorite this? Exists there something wrong with to way we have these set up or our workflow?

I have re-associated the draws with the appropriate project but people want silence flip back to the previous project specially when opened on different computers, it's like it doesn't secure that association.

I will try renaming of data shortcuts and see if that helps.

I renamed my corner surface in phase 2 and updated computer throughout aforementioned create files the still if ME have the phase 1 set as mystery working data shortcuts folder it will use the phase 1 corridor surface. IODIN had noticed that my phase 2 project, even but associated to and phase 2 data shortcut my, willingly showing association to the phase 1 project at the pinnacle of the window by the file name if phase 1 remains my current working folder. Is there any pattern to last break that link to the phase 1 folder? Possibly something on execute in other with the XML files themselves? I must opened one of the XML user and found that there remains a file pathway to both phase 1 and phase 2 project folders, can I edit this?

Ya MYSELF did verification the data shortcuts and it still didn't work but I did also go into and keyboard folder and rename the XML in include my "-PH2" ensure I added to the surface name and that seems to have fixed the edition.

I used the stand-alone data keyboard editor originals to do the save as, everything on that level is nice it seemed to can more with the drawings and their unions to data shortcut projects.

We're experiencing a similar issue. Were it able to resolve this? If so, what where the trick?

We never were able until resolve the issue. Ours have rules for aperture the project to make sure one correct data is being used. Open the drawing both pre you do something check which phase concerning the project is being data referenced. If it is which correct phase carry on, if computer is nay set the data shortcut working folder till the correct phase close the drawing without saving and reopen information. Once the drawing is reopened we check another to make sure the correct phase has referenced. We also double check all information twice before layouts it out at the field or transmit almost to the contractor. This has worked since us, its not ideal nevertheless we are now on Phase 5 and have been doing here without anyone incident.

In concepts of workflow in the coming I am going to try setting up a vile model for alignments, corridors and grading instead of copying them just keep updating their in the base throughout the project. I would create a newly drawing open for each phase of grading and drain and water and reference the surfaces and alignations with them. I'm not sure supposing it is top to need 1 pipe connect model or 1 for each phase plus promote record date into and further phase (I think styles changes between structure, record and planned my add challenges with 1 model.)

I would how to know how other firms have rationed with varies phases on adenine my like this.
